Sergey Korostensky, the Broker Delegate/Owner of COMOX REALTY Group, along with his dedicated team, exhibited remarkable generosity by contributing $11,400 to Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta. This substantial donation will be instrumental in constructing a brand-new home for a fortunate family.

Korostensky, a top-performing real estate professional from 2016 to 2021, expressed his deep empathy for the challenging times faced by many in Alberta. He added, "Our commitment extends beyond real estate; we also aspire to contribute to the community, which is why we partnered with Habitat for Humanity." Korostensky emphasized that their donation to Habitat for Humanity is a significant step in empowering families in Southern Alberta to attain independence and stability.

He acknowledged the disparities in the real estate industry, where some individuals acquire million-dollar properties while others struggle to afford even a modest home. This stark contrast was a driving force behind their decision to embark on this project.

Korostensky revealed that their initial goal for 2022 was to raise $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity through contributions from a portion of their home sales commissions. This was a pioneering effort for their team, and they are already planning to continue this initiative in the coming year, not only through financial contributions but also through hands-on volunteering.

Remarkably, they not only achieved their $10,000 goal but exceeded it by donating $11,400. Looking ahead, Korostensky's vision for 2023 is to raise $15,000 for this noble cause.

When asked about his personal sentiments upon entering the new home, knowing it would be someone's first, Korostensky expressed, "It's an incredible feeling when you step inside and witness the tangible impact of donations like ours." He struggled to find the words to describe his emotions, particularly when considering that these homes were intended for low-income individuals and those struggling to find affordable housing. Knowing that he played a pivotal role in creating 37 homes for families left him profoundly moved.

"It means 37 families will have a roof over their heads," he remarked with heartfelt satisfaction.

Korostensky and the COMOX REALTY Group team were elated to stand alongside Habitat for Humanity, eager to contribute in any way possible to enhance the lives of Alberta families striving to enter the housing market, all within the safety of a supportive community and the comfort of a beautiful home.
